Montreal singer-songwriter Bud Rice brings a soulful mix of roots, rock, and folk to the stage. With a voice full of heart and songs that explore love, loss, and life’s everyday moments, Bud has become a standout in Montreal’s vibrant music scene.
His debut album Belfast—named after his family’s Irish roots—showcased his eclectic style, blending intimate lyricism with upbeat soul, R&B, and rock influences. His latest project, Piece of Heaven, recorded at Montreal’s Breakglass Studios, continues that journey with deeply personal songs of great love and great loss, drawing comparisons to Leif Vollebekk, Bahamas, and Wilco.
Raised in a musical household and performing since his teens, Bud has spent over a decade honing his craft in venues across Montreal, Toronto, and New York City. Whether delivering stripped-down folk ballads or full-bodied blues-rock anthems, his authenticity and soulful hooks make for an unforgettable live experience.
