Libby Ember is a singer-songwriter from Montreal whose music blends indie pop, indie folk, and dream pop. Characterized by raw emotional honesty and narrative depth, her songwriting explores themes of vulnerability and the contradiction of private feelings colliding with public spaces.
She is drawn towards slow, introspective arrangements that create a sense of intimacy, yet she also draws inspiration from more upbeat soundscapes that mask the melancholy behind her words. Since the release of her debut EP, ‘I Kill Spiders,’ she has earned placements on several Spotify Editorial playlists, airplay on SiriusXM, and received praise across various media outlets. Libby draws inspiration from artists she loves, such as Lizzy McAlpine and Phoebe Bridgers.
In addition to her solo work, Libby is also a part of the duo Mae Lennon with her close friend Luana Labelle. Together, they cover and interpret songs by arranging new harmonies and fostering an intimate, acoustic, emotional space.
