One of the biggest events in small-town Hudson is our annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, organized by the Soulanges Irish Society. Fewer than 6,000 people live in Hudson, yet past parades have drawn more than 15,000 spectators to gather on Main Road to see the pipers, Irish dancers, and floats.
The 2024 parade route has not been announced, but it is likely to follow a similar path as in 2023. The parade will begin at 1pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024. It will travel along Main Road from Côte St Charles to the Community Centre.
The following streets will be closed for the parade:
Street parking will be restricted throughout the parade route.

If you are coming from Montreal, please note that the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be completely closed for repairs from March 15-18, 2024.
Autoroute 40 will be completely closed between boulevard des Anciens-Combattants and avenue Saint-Charles, from Friday 11:59 pm to Monday 5 am. In the westbound direction, access to chemin Senneville will be maintained for users needing to get to this sector.
The ramp leading from Autoroute 40 to the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be closed at Vaudreuil-Dorion, in the interchange with Autoroute 30. Autoroutes 20 and 30 are alternative routes for visitors coming from Montreal.
The fun starts well before the parade, with a series of events around Vaudreuil-Soulanges in February, followed by a full week of fun during the Hudson Irish Festival.
Microbrasserie Cardinal will be doing our part to join in, with the launch of The Craic Irish Red Ale to kick off Irish Week in Hudson at the beginning of March. Proceeds from the sale of this malty, deep red beer will support the not-for-profit Soulanges Irish Society to help them keep the good times rolling! The Craic will be available on tap and in cans at our taproom at 466 Main Road (Hudson), and at select partners throughout Quebec while supplies last.

Where does a handicap person park their car and watch the parade?

Hi, in response to your comment, we have updated this post. I recommend you plan to come early as there are many parking restrictions in effect.
Here are the public parking lots in Hudson (note that some of these may be difficult to access due to road closures):
– Corner of Selkirk and Main Road
– Jack Layton Park (no parking permits required)
– Behind St Thomas Church
– Across from St Thomas Church, in front of the Treehouse Daycare
– There is a very small public parking lot on Main Road, next to the Public Works building
A map of the areas where restricted parking will be in effect has now been added to the post, so you can see where it may be possible to park.
