Where to skate in Hudson

A skating oval is located behind the Hudson community pool at St. Thomas Park

It’s time to sharpen your skates and get outside! There are many beautiful outdoor skating rinks to enjoy in and around Hudson. When you’re done, come visit us at Microbrasserie Cardinal to meet up with friends and enjoy some après-skating relaxation.

Places to skate in Hudson

Both of Hudson’s outdoor skating areas are located close to the centre of town.

Benson Park: There are two rinks here, one for hockey and one for skating. Both are lit at night. There is a chalet with a toilet on site as well, open from 7:30am to 11pm every day. Benson Park is located at 34 Yacht Club Road.

St. Thomas Park: If a skating oval is more your style, visit St. Thomas park, located behind the community pool and St. Thomas Elementary School. The oval is surrounded by trees and is a lovely and peaceful spot to skate. St. Thomas Park is located at 78 Blenkenship.

Other skating areas nearby

Parc Chartier de Lotbinière, Rigaud (17 minutes from Hudson): Rigaud maintains a hockey rink and skating oval in its biggest and most established park. Bonus: there’s a tobogganing spot on site, and you can rent a variety of equipment to add to the fun at the heated chalet nearby. Equipment for rent includes everything from mini-zambonies and snow scooters to snowskates, snowshoes, and more. Between mid-January to late February the town also offers special programming on weekends for les Weekends Glisse et Réglisse.

Westwood Park skating oval, Saint-Lazare (10 minutes from Hudson): In winter, the running track behind Westwood Jr. High School is transformed into a huge skating oval. A great spot to go if you’re looking for a workout (or just like to go really fast!).

Parc Bédard, Saint-Lazare (15 minutes from Hudson): A super spot to bring the family, with three separate skating areas and a sledding hill.

Parc nature les forestiers de Saint-Lazare (20 minutes from Hudson): A big skating oval in the middle of the forest, tubing hill, cross-country ski trails, snowshoe trails, and a large heated chalet too. Non-residents must pay a fee to access this site, but it’s worth it if you want to spend the day outside.
